Our adoption process
Adopting a Sunfire Maine Coon kitten is an exciting journey. We've outlined our comprehensive process to ensure a smooth and joyful transition for both you and your new family member.
1. Waitlist & deposit
Many catteries, including ours, use a waitlist for upcoming litters. A deposit (typically $300 to $500) is required to secure your spot for a future Sunfire Maine Coon kitten.
2. Contract & deposit
After selecting your kitten, you will sign an adoption agreement. This legally binding contract includes a health guarantee (1–2 years for genetic conditions), a spay/neuter agreement, and a no-declaw clause.
3. Preparation period
Kittens stay with their mother until 12 to 16 weeks old, ensuring they are weaned, socialized, and vaccinated. During this time, you should kitten-proof your home, purchase high-protein food, and schedule a vet visit.
